FADE IN: EXT. FOREST PATH - AFTERNOON  A jeep car is driving down on a forest path. The camera zooms in to show two friends in the car. The driver is ISAAC ELEGANT, a light tan, curly-haired smart man. Riding Shotgun is JOHNNY BOLDOG , white, blonde, mullet positive man.  JOHNNY  How much longer, Isaac?  ISAAC  Three minutes, Johnny.  JOHNNY  Still wild you inherited a house from you GREAT UNCLE KEITH.  ISAAC  Yeah… don’t see that coming. JOHNNY  What is your uncle like? ISAAC  Rough. Jolly. Navy guy—eye patch and all. Fun… but strict. He dies from fright, which is odd Great uncle Keith is never afraid except going to a vegan restaurant.  The Jeep pulls into a quiet meadow. A worn medium size two floor 1935 Victorian style house including basement and attic sits alone. Overgrown grass. Patches of mushrooms nearby. The car parks with Johnny exits the car with a expression of amazement, while Issac has a nostalgic feeling. Isaac has flashback of him and Great Uncle Keith playing go fish and swing on a tire swing.  JOHNNY  You okay?  ISAAC  I’m sorry. Good memories!  JOHNNY  I’m here for you.  Johnny rubs Isaac back, then hugs him. The two friends head to the house with Isaac unlocks the house. As the two enter the house and turn on the light to see inside, moldy, broken furniture, and a knife on the wall. The two friends are in shock.  JOHNNY  Great Cheese wheels! It’s a mess!  ISAAC  You think so.  Isaac went from bewilderment to an idea.  ISAAC  We fix it, then sell it. I got $2,050.  JOHNNY  Good idea. I got $701.62.  INT. HOUSE - AFTERNOON  The next three hours the friends call people to deliver the materials and a REPAIR GUY to fix up the house, starting tomorrow. As Isaac looks around the house to sees more mushroom, Johnny goes to a unknown room on the first floor. Isaac hears Johnny scream, then rushes to him.  ISAAC  Are you okay? What happen?  JOHNNY  Your uncle has a pinball machine, and it’s in such good condition.  ISAAC  Yes, he has a pinball machine from the 80’s and plays with me.  Johnny starts play with it with a grin from ear to ear. Isaac continues to look around the room, but kept looking at the pinball machine until he joined Johnny to play As the two played the pinball machine, their was a cracking sound is heard ISSAC  What is that noise?  JOHNNY  Maybe a random dog walking around.  ISAAC  Yes, that’s the most logical reason. A dog open the door and is walking around the house.  The Pinball machine light flashes as the game was over.  ISAAC  Let’s go back into town and find a motel. We'll start tomorrow.  JOHNNY  I’m taking this when we’re done.  ISAAC  Agreed.  The two friends leave the house and head for a motel. INT. HOUSE - MORNING  Isaac and Johnny talk to a few repair people about the house and the repairs begin. Isaac and Johnny clean the trash and dusting around the house. Johnny sees Mushroom shape foot prints and looks worried.  ISAAC  Stay focused  JOHNNY  I finds new mushrooms in a spot where it aren’t there yesterday.  Isaac turns around to see the mushroom the spots and starts to look worried. The friends look where the foot print goes, which lead to a wall.  ISAAC  This doesn’t make sense. It ends at the wall.  Johnny gets distracted by lose wires creating electric sparks and saw the mushroom slightly burned. Isaac pulls Johnny away from the wires.  ISAAC  Those wires are still alive.  JOHNNY  Sorry.  ISAAC  Just be a little careful and focus in the future, dude.  The two friends proceed to clean the house and see if some objects are worth selling. MONTAGE – REPAIR AND CLEANING Johnny takes the job of fixing the kitchen since he works in a kitchen. First day of fixing and cleaning takes several hours. Isaac and Johnny leaves the house for the evening.  EXT. FRONT OF THE HOUSE - MORNING  As Isaac and Johnny return with the CARPENTER, as they open the door to see more mushroom almost everywhere. Isaac and Johnny expression are of shock.  ISAAC  Okay… that’s not normal. It is almost clean.  JOHNNY  Mushroom don’t grow this fast. Someone is either playing a prank on us or this is a mushroom infection?  ISAAC  I’m looking up and call a hazard or cleaning crew? Maybe both?  Isaac turns around and is starting to look up and call someone. A strange howl echoes. Johnny looks up A shadow moves upstairs. JOHNNY  Look someones on the second floor!  Isaac quickly turns around to the person on the second. Both friends immensity rush up to the second floor as the figure disappeared into the room. The two friends open the door to find the room empty and More footprints—ending in a cluster.  JOHNNY  A secret passageway?  ISAAC  No. I know this place inside and out. Isaac and Johnny decide to clean the house again, leaving the carpenter to handle the structural repairs. INT. KEITH’S BEDROOM – EVENING The house is quiet. Johnny and Isaac sit in the dim room, waiting. Listening. They speak in hushed voices. JOHNNY If this fails… we’re done. ISAAC What happened to the positive guy I know? Johnny exhales. JOHNNY If it fails… I don’t know what we’ll do. Losing my job was bad enough. ISAAC How did you lose it, anyway? JOHNNY
 My boss didn’t like when I entertained customers while cooking. Maybe I should’ve stayed quiet and kept my head down. Isaac shakes his head. ISAAC
 No way. Your personality brings people in. That’s your strength. Beat. ISAAC
 I lost my coding tech job because someone framed me because I was doing well maybe too well. JOHNNY
 You’re one of the smartest people I know. That company messed up not backing you. Isaac softens. ISAAC Thanks. I needed that. JOHNNY
 Anytime, pal. You’ve always had my back. They share a quick, genuine moment—patting each other on the shoulder. Isaac finds a journal. He picks it up and flips through it. Concerns grows. ISAAC This explains it.. JOHNNY
 What do you mean? They read together. A note about illegal dumping in the nearby forest. A radioactive barrel leaking into the soil. A mushroom touched by the substance. Rapid growth. Strange noises. Footsteps. Fear creeping into the house. JOHNNY
 So that thing… came from toxic waste? Before Isaac can respond. A faint FOOTSTEP behind them. Johnny slowly turns. His face goes pale. He gasps, tugging on Isaac’s sleeve. ISAAC
 Not now. I’m almost— Johnny tugs harder. Annoyed, Isaac turns and freezes. Standing in the doorway is the MUSHROOM FIEND. Over six feet tall. Eggshell-brown flesh. Four arms. Thick, uneven body. A massive purple-green mushroom head with four vertical slits that twitch and growl. The room goes silent. Johnny and Isaac scream. They back away slowly, then RUN. INT. HOUSE – CONTINUOUS The creature lumbers after them. ISAAC
 That’s what caused Uncle Keith’s heart attack—a mushroom fiend! JOHNNY
 What do we do?! ISAAC
 I don’t know. You’re the chef! JOHNNY
 Nothing in the kitchen prepares you for THIS! ISAAC
 Great. So now we’re running through a house like a horror movie? The creature grabs a chair and HURLS it. It narrowly misses them. They fight back—throwing objects, anything they can grab. Nothing works. Johnny throws a knife. It BOUNCES OFF the creature’s body. They scramble into a corner. The creature closes in. Isaac frantically searches a nearby drawer. He finds a TASERGUN. He fires. The creature SCREAMS and recoils. A burned mark appears on its torso. The friends stare and come to a realization. ISAAC & JOHNNY
 Electricity hurts it! JOHNNY
 The wires burned those mushrooms earlier! ISAAC
 But the wiring’s inside the walls, so we can’t access it! They run again. Then Isaac spots his car through a window. An idea sparks. ISAAC
 The car battery. Johnny grins. JOHNNY
 So we’re cooking the mushroom? ISAAC
 Let’s just survive first. They sneak outside. EXT. DRIVEWAY – EVENING Storm clouds gather. Isaac and Johnny quickly set up jumper cables, a metal pipe, and insulated gloves. Isaac steps forward, shouting. The Mushroom Fiend emerges slowly from the house. Closing in. Johnny turns the key. Nothing. ISAAC
 Bro. JOHNNY
 It won’t start! The creature closes in. Isaac grabs the metal pipe and jabs it into the creature. The engine finally ROARS to life. Johnny revs it hard. Electric current surges through the cables into the pipe into the creature. The Mushroom Fiend screams. The creature convulses, BURNS, collapses to ash. Silence. JOHNNY
 Is it over? Isaac stares at the smoking remains. ISAAC
 …I hope so. The ashes scatter in the wind. EXT. DRIVEWAY – DAWN The friends sit in the car, having fallen asleep. They wake to morning light. The creature is gone; only faint residue remains. MONTAGE – REPAIR AND RECOVERY A montage of the house being restored over several days. Walls repaired, floors cleaned. Mushrooms were removed completely. The pinball machine was carefully transported. EXT. HOUSE – DAY (ONE WEEK LATER) A SOLD sign stands. Johnny and Isaac stand side by side. ISAAC
 It was a long, rough road… but we did it. Thanks, Great Uncle Keith. JOHNNY
 Yeah… we really did. Isaac sheds a small tear. Johnny smirks. They share a high five. They drive off toward a fresh start. FADE OUT
